i had me julie when she was 4 weeks old and fell in love with her the instant i saw her,she was a jack russell,so small i used to put her in my jacket pocket and take her to the pub with me.everybody who met her loved her and pampered her,she never left my side i took her everywhere i went, she loved the beach and park but most of all a squeaky toy..about 5 months ago i found a lump in her throat, after 3 biopsy.s cancer was diagnosed and there was nothing to stop it in few weeks it spread right through her,in the last 3 days she couldnt walk eat or drink i was giving her water through a syringe,i knew then that i had to let her go i couldnt let her suffer, she was put to sleep and went peacefully in my arms ive buried her in my garden so she,ll always be near me.julie davies the most beautiful loyal devoted dog i,ll love and miss you always babycakes x x x x

Heart Strings
by Terri Onorato

A flutter races through my heart
like wings of butterflies
it pulls ever so lightly
stinging tears come to my eyes.
An old familiar feeling
like a memory tucked so deep
it stays forever with me
it is mine alone to keep.
Four precious paws from heaven
did encompass me forever
and with woven strings of angel dust
tied our hearts together.
The final breath was taken
the last heartbeat echoed faint
a loving tug on heart strings
was felt through storms of pain.
This tug was but a message
that was heard yet left unspoken
assurance through the hurtful loss
the bond would not be broken.
As wings of angels whisper
and the chimes begin to sing
a bond is strongly deepened
with the tug of our heart strings.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and they are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days gone by. The animals are so happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together each day, but then the day comes when one suddenly stops and peers into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

YOU have been spotted, and when you finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved soft head, and you finally get to look once again into the loving eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.

Precious Love

The agony is so great...
and yet I will stand it.
Had I not loved so very much...
I would not hurt so much.
But God knows I would not want to diminish
that precious love...
By one fraction of an ounce.
I will hurt...
And I will be grateful for that hurt
For it bears witness to the depth of my love.
And for that I will be eternally grateful.
